The bores are both the "Ballard" or six groove and land (wide and prominent riflings and grooves) but the Miroku bore is definitely more pronounced and pristine (void of all tool marks).Ĭycling the 92 is more like velvet and it ejects straight up about a foot or more, the 1894 ejects out the side not as aggressively as the 92 does up. The Marlin is very slightly shorter (an inch or less) but in weight I feel they are very similar with the Marlin having more of the weight in the barrel region. They both have excellent sights that are traditional, sturdy, and easy to see if you are a little far or near sighted. They both hold 10 rounds in the tube or 10 +1 (if you chamber one and fill the tube). ![]() 44 Magnum-I believe in optimizing POWER whenever possible!). ![]() I have some observations about these fine handy levers that may help those of you interested in a "pistol cartridge" lever action (mine are both in. The Marlin is prefixed serial # 91065XXX (2009 Model) and it does have "JM" stamped on the barrel-apparently Marlin has changed hands/moved/become another company (REP?) but I didn't know this when I got this Marlin NIB in 2011. Well, I had to add the Marlin sorta recently in the same caliber because I made the mistake of handling it at a gun store. The Marlin is an 1894CB Limited Cowboy (it has the "squared lever" and 20" octagonal barrel) and the Winchester 1892 I've posted here before as my only.
